Week 8
Test shooting of the scene:
We are going to do the test shot on Monday (21/10/2019)
Week 9
I drew and coloured the boy while Chan Hee draw and colour the girl because of our different drawing styles.
Video of test shot:
Storyboard renew:
Week 10 - 12
This is the simple character sheet that we decided to have on the looks and colours.
We each drew the character, then transfer it to the computer to duplicate the characters.
I drew the boy and cat (Painting section) while Chan Hee drew the girl and the guard (Museum section), and also the props we divide the work for each section.
This is the software that I drew and duplicate with.
After we print them out, we colour them. For the colouring, I paint the "Museum" section with watercolour while Chan Hee paints the "Painting" section with poster colour. So they look like it have different art styles.
We shoot the scenes for a few days in the studio.
*Note: Use a tripod. (My back hurts doing this for a long period of time)
The frames were not enough because we thought that we could reused some frames.
So, we have to re-shoot.
Mr Martin also help us refine the storyboard.
Re-shooting:

Storyboard slides
At first, we shoot on the table because we didn't know how to use the tripod properly.
After that our friend taught us, how to use it properly, so we shot on the floor because it would be easier to move the characters.
Week 13 - 14
Music (Mostly):
Our musics and sound effects are from YouTube.
Chan Hee finds the musics and sound effects while I edit the video and audio.

The music in the video was too soft.
I think it was because I turn down the volume when I was using the headset, so that I would not hurt my ear drums.
So, I tried to not use the headset when editing sound.
Mr Martin help us the refine the storyboard again to shorten the time by cutting and merging some scenes.
I drew a frame for the scene to fit in but it looks unnatural, so I left it as in Fig. 13.1.
Since the audio was to long to download, I download the video instead.
We mainly used Adobe Audition for audio and Adobe Premier Pro for the video to edit.

Final Project
Week 6
Mr Martin gave us a tarot reading to give us a theme. Mr Martin said that we don't need to follow the theme, he just want us to get some inspirational ideas from it. After choosing cards, I got the Moon card.
The description is below:
After that I got some ideas for my stop motion. The material that I want to use is paper cut.
Idea 1: My idea of the stop motion is about a girl who likes reading. Reading lets you to image the scenarios of the story. So, my ideas is that the book absorbs her into the story. After getting sucked into the book, she became the protagonist of the story and perform a task to go home. The twist is that she wakes up from a dream. (Seems too long)
Idea 2: A girl that likes to draw and have a pen that can turn what she draws become real.
Idea 3: In a museum, a girl is admiring a painting but then was pulled into the painting. Then become one of the exhibition.

FEEDBACK
Week 7:
Mr Martin said that add in the action and reaction shot of the girl and the painting of the lady.
Week 8:
Mr Martin said that the message of the world of painting should be stronger. The moment where the girl is pulled into the painting and plays with the boy should be longer. Mr Martin and Mr Razif suggested that we could use different medium to tell the difference between the world where the girl live and the world of painting.
Week 9:
Mr Martin suggested us to renew the storyboard and gave us some advice about making it better. He suggest us to change the camera angle of the girl entering into the portal to 90 degree angle instead of 45 degree angle. He had adviced us to make the beginning shorter and have the interaction of the girl and the boy longer and romantic.
Week 10:
No feedback.
Week 11:
Mr Martin told us that our photos were not enough to make a sequence because it's too short and need to have 24 frames per seconds.
Week 12 - 13:
No feedback.
Week 14:
For sound, Mr Razif said that most of our sound effects are muted by the background music. The footsteps sounds like it's working on a stage, it should be on concrete, add some more sound effects such as the question mark, exclamation mark and swooshing sound and also squeaking rubbing eyes. For the background music, we can have a harp music because the boy is holding a harp and should add the ambience sound for the museum and in the painting sound.
Tip: Make the sound effort first before the background music because the music might masked the sound effort, without sound effort the video looks dead.
For visual, Mr Martin said the visual is fine and we should continue to polish up the video.
